The Abortion Debate

I have been taking a course in rhetoric and the professor made the statement that there are no enthymeme's in the abortion debate. I am gathering in my studies that an enthymeme:
  • is something we can agree on that doesn't need to be stated in the argument.
  • is an informal syllogism (meaning a major premise that goes unstated).
  • is an assertion where the premise is understood whether or not it is true (i.e., we agree that it is).
In this post I want do not want to prove that abortion is an acceptable practice but rather that a mother should have the same rights afforded any biological host. This would include then the right to arbitrarily nullification of the life of the symbiont or child.
